SUMMARY:

This ordinance authorizes acceptance of a contract with Gunn Chevrolet to provide two replacement and three additional four full-door compact crew cab trucks for a total cost of $119,980.00.

Funding is included in the FY 2018 Equipment Renewal and Replacement Fund (ERRF) Budget in the amount of $47,992.00, and the FY 2018 Parks and Recreation Department General Fund Budget in the amount of $71,988.00.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Submitted for City Council consideration and action is the attached tabulation of five competitive bids to provide the Parks and Recreation Department with five two-wheel drive compact crew cab trucks for a total cost of $119,980.00. These compact crew cab trucks will be utilized by the Parks & Recreation Department to support linear creek way development and maintenance. These vehicles will be used to transport crews and equipment to maintain pavilions, irrigation systems, greenways, and trails. This purchase is to support the new park amenities that were approved in FY 2017.

The bid submitted by Gunn Nissan did not meet published bid specifications of day time running lights, intermittent wipers, and automatic-off head lights.

The life expectancy for these units is 120 months. These units have a three year or 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
