SUMMARY:
This ordinance authorizes acceptance of a contract with Weedoo Greenboat, Inc. to provide the Parks & Recreation Department with one Weedoo workboat, premium highway trailer and one portable conveyor system for a total cost of $87,450.00. Funding is available from the FY 2018 General Fund.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Submitted for City Council consideration and action is the attached tabulation of one bid response received from Weedoo Greenboat, Inc. to provide one Weedoo workboat, premium highway trailer and one portable conveyor system for a total cost of $87,450.00. The Parks & Recreation Department is recommending award to Weedoo Greenboat, Inc.
This workboat and portable conveyor system will allow the Parks & Recreation Department to automate the maintenance and removal of dense overgrown vegetation within fourteen lakes and ponds. Today, removal of aquatic vegetation in City lakes and ponds is manually performed by Parks & Recreation staff by utilizing small boats or working at the water's edge with various types of equipment.
ISSUE:
This contract will provide one Weedoo workboat, premium highway trailer and one portable conveyor system to be utilized by the Park Maintenance Water Way Division. This equipment will be used for the removal of overgrowth, vegetation and debris from City Park lakes and ponds. This equipment will allow Parks staff the ability to quickly remove dense overgrowth and vegetation and maintain approximately fourteen lakes and ponds in a clean, attractive and orderly manner.
The Weedoo workboat is equipped with a mounted hi-speed marine boom cutter, a front loader with marine material handling bucket, a removable tubular frame with black canvas cover for shade and weather protection, a marine loader quick-change root rake, and a loader bucket skimmer.
