Project Background
The Transportation & Capital Improvements Department (TCI), through its Environmental Management Division, assesses environmental impairments and oversees asbestos, lead-based paint and mold environmental assessments for capital improvement projects associated with the 2017-2022 Bond program. Staff utilizes these on-call environmental consulting contracts on an as-needed basis to assist with various environmental investigations.

The costs for an asbestos or lead-based paint assessment for one project could range up to $20,000.00; therefore, necessitating the need for four on-call contracts at a value of $325,000.00. However, the City makes no minimum guarantee pertaining to the volume of work that may be expected from each consultant under these on-call contracts.
