SUBJECT:

Ordinance approving a Funding Agreement between the Mission Drive-In TIRZ and the City's World Heritage Office for the Mission Road Sidewalk Connectivity Project, located along the World Heritage Trail at the intersection of S.E. Military Drive to 99th Street, north of Runway 14 at Stinson Municipal Airport for an amount not to exceed $1,131,305.00, for public improvements and eligible project costs and approving the Amended Project Plan and Finance Plan.

SUMMARY:

Project improvements include the construction of sidewalks on both sides of the streets from the intersection of S.E. Military Drive to 99th Street just north of Runway 14 at Stinson Municipal Airport and installation of candy cane lighting and brick pavers.

City Council is being asked to consider an ordinance approving execution of a Funding Agreement with the City's World Heritage Office for the Mission Road Sidewalk Connectivity Project, located at the intersection of S.E. Military Drive to 99th Street, north of Runway 14 at Stinson Municipal Airport, in Council District 3, along the World Heritage Trail and within the Mission Drive-In TIRZ for a total amount not to exceed $1,131,305, to be utilized for public improvements and eligible project costs.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In late 2018, the City's World Heritage Office and the Transportation & Capital Improvements Department initiated the public input process for the Mission Road Sidewalk Connectivity Project. This project, a $2 million investment approved through the 2017-2022 Bond Program, will include the construction of streetscape improvements along Mission Road from S.E. Military Drive to 99th Street in Council District 3
