Contract Award: Blossom Park (Lotus Blossom Street) (2017 Bond)
SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract to Clearfield Construction, LLC in the amount of $686,292.20 of which $197,773.00 will be reimbursed by San Antonio Water System (SAWS) for the Blossom Park (Lotus Blossom Street) project, a 2017 Bond funded drainage project, located in Council District 9.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
On May 6, 2017, voters approved the 2017 Bond Program which authorized $1,400,000.00 for drainage and flood control improvements for the Blossom Park (Lotus Blossom Street) project located in Council District 9.
This project will provide for drainage and flood control improvements to include the installation of a new, larger box culvert replacing the existing undersized box culvert underneath Lotus Blossom Street including the reconstruction of the bridge approaches on Lotus Blossom, as well as the adjoining sidewalks and driveways. Additionally, the existing eroded channel armor will be removed and replaced providing more efficient water flow throughout the neighborhood.
Procurement of Services
This project was advertised in July 19, 2019 for construction bids in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's website, on the Texas Electronic State Business Daily, on TVSA, through electronic bidding site CivCast and through the TCI Small Business Office. Bids were opened on Tuesday August 20, 2019 and four bids were received. Of these, Clearfield Construction, LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid. A matrix of the bid outcome is included herein.
