SUBJECT: At-Large Appointments to the Building Standards Board (4 Slots)
SUMMARY:
An Ordinance appointing Chavernay Perron (Healthcare Professional), Joshua S. Powell (Healthcare Professional), Robert Tapia (Architect - Adaptive Reuse of Historic Buildings), and Celencia Guillory (At-Large Category) to the Building Standards Board for the remainder of unexpired terms of office to expire May 31, 2021; and waiving the category requirement for Celencia Guillory’s appointment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Planning and Community Development City Council Committee convened on Monday, October 14, 2019 and heard brief statements from the applicants present. The Committee provided recommendations for the above stated appointment to the Building Standards Board.
ISSUE:
Board appointments require full City Council approval.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Office of the City Clerk will continue to advertise vacancies.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
In order to proceed with the direction of the City Council, the Office of the City Clerk recommends approval of the Board Appointments.
