Funds are available from FY 2020 Tax Notes and are included in the FY 2020 - FY 2025 Capital Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Under the Council approved FY 2020 Budget, $405,000.00 was allocated for the west courtyard wall of the Spanish Governor's Palace. The existing courtyard wall built in 1930 is deteriorating and has exceeded its life expectancy. The project will provide for the replacement of the wall, gate and structural foundation. Coordination with the World Heritage Office has taken place to ensure accommodations are made to keep the remainder of the Spanish Governor's Palace Courtyard is accessible to patrons and residents during construction.
The amendment to the Interlocal Agreement between the City and SARA will allow for the demolition and reconstruction of the Spanish Governor's Palace Wall. The project work will be managed by SARA and executed as part of the 2017 Bond San Pedro Creek Improvements Project.
