Contract Award: Caracol Creek Park (2017 Bond Project)
SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract in the amount of $171,001.00 to Maverick Turnkey Construction Group, LLC for improvements to Caracol Creek Park, a 2017 Bond funded project, located in Council District 4. Funds are available from the 2017 General Obligation Bond Program and are included in the FY 2020 - FY 2025 Capital Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
On May 6, 2017, voters approved 2017 Bond Program which authorized $400,000.00 for improvements to Caracol Creek Park. Public input meetings were held in June 2018 and November 2018 with the surrounding community to gather feedback on proposed improvements for Caracol Creek Park. The project will provide for a concrete walking trail, park signage and site work which will include clearing, excavation, grading and landscaping. Construction is anticipated to begin June 2020 and estimated to be completed by November 2020.
Procurement of Services
This project was advertised on January 17, 2020 for construction bids in the San Antonio Hart Beat, on the City's website, on the Texas Electronic State Business Daily, on TVSA, through electronic bidding site CivCast and through the PWD Small Business Office. Bids were opened on February 18, 2020 and nine responsive bids were received. Of these, Maverick Turnkey Construction Group, LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid.
