The City has considerable security assets to secure the safety and security of its employees and physical assets. This contract will provide electronic system installation, preventive maintenance, as well as new security system installations at various major City facilities. To date, there are 110 sites which feature Hirsch Electronics Corporation access control infrastructure and 102 sites which feature Genetec security infrastructure.
On March 23, 2020, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was advertised and released to select a contractor to provide services to maintain the City's electronic security systems and installation of any new security systems at various major City facilities for the Security Division of the Information Technology Services Department.
Three proposals were received on May 8, 2020 and deemed eligible for evaluation. The evaluation committee representatives were Craig Hopkins, Chief Information Officer, Information Technology Services Department; Patsy Boozer, Chief Information Security Officer, Information Technology Services Department; Derek Rabey, Technical Security Manager, Information Technology Services Department; Louis Resendez, Special Projects Manager, Information Technology Services Department; Francisco Garcia, Facilities Manager, San Antonio Police Department and Aurora Perkins, Parking Administrator, Center City Development & Operations Department.
