Contract Award: North St. Mary's Street (East Mistletoe Avenue to West Josephine Street) (2017 Bond Project)
SUMMARY:
An ordinance accepting the lowest responsive bid and awarding a construction contract including three additive alternates to SpawGlass Civil Construction, Inc. in the amount of $10,032,682.08 of which $3,394,026.01 will be reimbursed by San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and $1,765,330.27 will be reimbursed by CPS Energy for the North St. Mary's Street (East Mistletoe Avenue to West Josephine Street) project, a 2017 Bond funded project, located in Council District 1. Funds are available from the 2017- 2022 General Obligation Bond Program and are included in the FY 2021 - FY 2026 Capital Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Project Background
On May 6, 2017, voters approved the 2017 Bond Program which authorized $7,000,000.00 for improvements to North St. Mary's Street (East Mistletoe Avenue to West Josephine Street) located in Council District 1. This project will improve north St. Mary's Street from east Mistletoe Avenue to west Josephine Street with sidewalk widening and connectivity, intersection improvements and joint bid utility water, sewer and gas improvements throughout project limits as appropriate and within available funding. The three additive alternates accepted, as part of this project will provide for the street reconstruction of north St. Mary's Street from Courtland to St. Josephine Street including joint-bid SAWS sewer work throughout the project limits. Construction is anticipated to begin in February 2021 and is estimated to be completed in September 2022.
