SUMMARY:
Councilmember Jada Andrews-Sullivan requests that City Council, through resolution, direct City Staff to initiate a plan amendment and rezoning to appropriate zoning districts consistent with the proposed development. The proposed resolution would authorize City Staff to take appropriate steps to bring forward to the Planning Commission and Zoning Commission for a recommendation and to City Council for final action, an ordinance amending the land use and zoning on 2.527 acres out of NCB 520, NCB 521, NCB 530, NCB 549 and NCB 1659 for properties generally located at 1003, 1007, 1011, 1012, 1017, 1021 North Hackberry Street, and 502, 504, 505, 506, 508, 511 Lamar Street and 702 and 705 North Pine Street.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The purpose of the plan amendment and zoning request is to address property zoned “IDZ” Infill Development Zone as the result of a large area rezoning in 2012. This proposal seeks to rezone the property and change the land use as necessary.
ISSUE:
The properties located at 1003, 1007, 1011, 1012, 1017, 1021 North Hackberry Street, 502, 504, 505, 506, 508, and 511 Lamar Street, 702 and 705 North Pine Stree require review and analysis of land use and zoning in respect to existing use.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The subject area comprises approximately 2.527 acres. The total Plan Amendment and Zoning application fee is $3,548.35.
If this resolution is approved by Council, the cost of these processes will be absorbed by the Development Services Department.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution as this direction will provide an opportunity to apply appropriate land use and zoning to noted subject properties.
